Orientation for New Practitioners
A formal orientation program is provided for all new medical staff applicants and advanced practice physician extenders.

Applicants for medical staff privileges and advanced practice allied health staff must attend the required formal half-day orientation program prior to privileges being granted.  Orientation is held monthly and each attendee is invited to attend only after the Credentials Committee has recommended approval of the applicant.

The program is held on the fourth Wednesday of each month and runs from 8-11 a.m. Attendees must report to the Medical Staff Services department which is located on the first floor of the Presbyterian Hospital's main campus at 200 Hawthorne Lane in Charlotte.  Click here for directions and a map.

The program consists of the following activities:

  • Picture taking for ID Badge
  • Update/confirmation of information on file (addresses, phone/beeper numbers, etc.)
  • Meet key medical staff leaders
  • Presentations of important information from selected hospital staff
  • Computer access with hands-on training

Questions or confirmation of attendance may be sent to c.funderburk@novanthealth.org. You may also request a separate tour and a one-on-one orientation for Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville or Presbyterian Hospital Matthews if you will be practicing at either of these facilities.  You may also click on this email link to request this additional facility-specific orientation.
