As many of you are aware, all new computers purchased from retail outlets now contain a new operating system called Vista, however you may not be aware that there are currently five different versions of this operating system.Many of our applications cannot operate on this new operating system.

Basic Premium Business Ultimate Enterprise

Information Technology (IT) is aware that many of you have purchased Vista and experiencing various issues with our remote access solutions. The IT department will begin to work with our venders towards the end of the year to test all applications for verification of compatibility with Microsoft Vista. Currently, only a few of our vendors are ready for this new operating system.

Novant remote access will only be supported the operating system version of Business, Ultimate and Enterprise. The Premier Basic and the Basic versions will not be supported at this time.

At this time, the only remote solution that is compatible with Business, Ultimate and Enterprise versions of Vista is our VPN Connectivity SSL solution, and the only application that is certified to function under the remote access solution is:

What is the problem with Microsoft Vista working with our applications?

The reason why IT needs to test all applications for compatibility is that our current applications were only programmed to work with Microsoft XP operating system. Since Microsoft Vista is programmed differently due to more features and options. Our vendors are working to upgrade their code to work correctly with this operating system. Once IT has identified those applications that are not compatible with Microsoft Vista, IT will work with all vendors for updates to ensure compatibility.

What if I have purchased a new computer with Vista how do I download the VPN Connectivity SSL.

If you have purchased a new computer and wish to access OWA via the VPN Connectivity SSL solution how do I obtain the Vista version?

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Type the URL: http://www2.novanthealth.org/support/index.html
  3. Click VPN Clients
  4. Username = novantvpn
  5. password = download (lowercase)
  6. Select the Vista VPN
  7. Follow the Install step-by-step instructions.

Once the VPN client is installed on your computer you will need to make sure the following settings are correct.

  1. Double Click VPN client icon on your desktop.
  2. Click on Options from the menu bar.
  3. Select Authentication Options.
  4. The Group password = test (lowercase).
  5. Click OK
  6. Your user name = CorpID (XXX001)
  7. Pin = Last four of your Social Security Number
  8. Token = Six digits from your FOB.
  9. Click on Connect.
